Samantha Bee has become one of my favorite late night comedians.

The fact that she went to Puerto Rico, my country, in an attempt to put the spotlight back on the current status of Puerto Rico, makes he more dear to my heart.

The 45 minutes special is included below.

It’s very factual, interesting, educational and funny.

It speaks for itself.

Full Frontal aired a one-hour special from Puerto Rico in which Samantha Bee and her correspondents visit the island that was top-of-show news when Hurricane María hit months ago, leaving 1,000+ dead, about 10K homeless, and 3.4M without power.

The Great American Puerto Rico was taped in February 2018; 103K still were without power, Bee reported, calling it “shameful” given that Puerto Ricans are American citizens.

“If this happened in Connecticut, it would be front page news every day,” she said, adding,

“How did we f*ck this up so badly?!”

Bee says in the special she grabbed her correspondents and rushed to Puerto Rico “to find out what the hell was going on,” telling her crew “Let’s make America give a damn about Puerto Rico.”

During the special Bee announces she had moved her TBS late-night show’s T-shirt production to Puerto Rico, and challenged others to do same, most especially former The Daily Show colleague/current CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert.

Bee had first announced her Puerto Rico special back in January, during another Full Frontal special in which she sent her staff to race around, apologizing on behalf of the United States for all the things Drumpf had done at that point.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SCREWING PUERTO RICO

NOTHING NEW

I must confess that I didn’t really know the complex history that exists between Puerto Rico, my country, and the mighty imperialistic U.S. of A.

I’m truly ashamed to say that I didn’t find out about this history until 2015 when I found out about and read the book written by Nelson A. Denis “War Against All Puerto Ricans‘.

I need to say that I grew up under the shadow of the ‘greatest country in the world’ and believed every word I was programmed with. The information provided in the book, very well written, researched and totally documented, wasn’t taught in the private school that I went to.

I went to a Catholic school in Río Piedras, somewhat a suburb of San Juan, ran by American nuns and priests.

Samantha Bee takes a humorous look at a synopsis of this history in light of the humanitarian disaster caused by Hurricane María and the response by the American government lead by the “Moron-in-Chief“, Drumpf.

The American government’s slow response to the humanitarian crisis in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria is actually nothing new.
On Wednesday’s “Full Frontal,”, October 4, Samantha Bee explained that the way Drumpf “helped” storm-ravaged Puerto Ricans followed a 100-year-old pattern.

“If you’re shocked by this, then you are not Puerto Rican,” said Bee.

“Truth is, we’ve been treating them like the unwelcome nephew under America’s stairs for more than a century.”

Aided by “Hamilton” star Javier Muñoz, who has family on the island, Bee then dissected the island’s history of “getting screwed with their pantalones on by the United States.”

Tim Kaine took the stage alongside Hillary Clinton in Miami Saturday, July 23, and offered his first greeting to voters as a vice presidential nominee — in Spanish.

“Bienvenidos a todos,” the Virginia senator said, a phrase that translates to “welcome to everyone.”

Clinton and Kaine’s first joint appearance as running mates at a campaign rally here marked the official unveiling of the Democratic ticket. The duo will face off against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.
Right off the bat, the contrast that the Clinton campaign will seek to highlight between Kaine and the Republican ticket during the general election was clear.

I strongly believe that many people feel this way.

I must confess that every time I read “Prayers for ..”, I loose my cool.

It happened this weekend.

When I saw a meme about this for the first time, I thought “prayer isn’t working”.

This video says it all.

I agree with Ms. Bee.

This is the first time I’ve seeen her.

I will be looking forward to many more of her thoughts.

Fiery Segment On The Orlando Nightclub Shootings

Samantha Bee is not on television enough during the week. Much like John Oliver, we only get to enjoy her presence on television once a week. And it’s been obvious that her show is top notch for the past few weeks, but this is truly the moment where she has decided to shine.

Sadly it’s during one of the nation’s darkest moments.

Bee drops the opening with Peaches, drops the Jon Stewart appearances, and gets right down to business about the Orlando nightclub attack. And she does not hold back the anger, which like Conan’s statement, is pretty refreshing for late night. Jon Stewart would get angry during The Daily Show and the passion shown by Bee here is the closest we’ve seen since he retired. It’s something we’ve only gotten a bit from Trevor Noah and John Oliver never seems to let his emotions take over.

Here we see Samantha Bee not holding back about guns, the revolving door of responses we give after every mass shooting, and the flimsy defense for the AR-15. She also doesn’t hesitate to put Florida governor Rick Scott on the fire over Florida’s lack of background checks for AR-15’s and his response for what we could do to help in the aftermath.
