Harvey Weinstein is certainly not the first powerful man publicly and credibly accused of sexually harassing or abusing women in recent years.

Since 2015, the Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, the Fox News prime-time host Bill O’Reilly and the comedian and actor Bill Cosby have suffered professional, financial or reputational setbacks after numerous women told stories of their sexual misconduct.

Those stories dominated news cycles, to be sure, but the outcry accompanying Mr. Weinstein’s downfall seems louder and more impassioned – perhaps because Mr. Weinstein’s accusers include stars like Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Drumpf, an American businessman and current ‘so-called’ President of the United States, has been accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment by at least fifteen women since the 1980’s.

Those accusations resulted in the following widely-reported litigation: his then-wife Ivana made a rape claim during their 1989 divorce litigation but later recanted that claim; businesswoman Jill Harth sued Drumpf in 1997 alleging breach of contract and nonviolent sexual harassment and the latter suit was withdrawn when the former was settled and, in 2017, former Apprentice contestant Summer Zervos filed a defamation lawsuit after Drumpf called her a liar.

Aside from litigation, Drumpf has also been publicly accused of non-consensual kissing or groping by at least twelve more women, which he has denied.

The Donald has dismissed claims he paid prostitutes to urinate on a Moscow hotel bed that had been previously used by Barack Obama as “a total political witch hunt“.

But the leaked document , which CNN say was presented by intelligence chiefs to both Mr Obama and Mr Trump last week, claims Russia has used video of the incident to blackmail the President elect.

But that hasn’t stopped the internet reacting to the news – as the man himself might say – “bigly.”

The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike.

Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words “DONT TREAD ON ME”.

The flag is named after American general and politician Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag, along with the Moultrie Flag.

Modern uses of the Gadsden flag include political movements such as Libertarianism and the American Tea Party as well as American soccer supporter groups, including Sam’s Army and the American Outlaws since the late 1980’s.

Somewhere in interstellar space a supernova formed the Love Symbol

The year was 1982 and Prince was exploding into the realms of American popular culture. Ten years later, he’d go on to adopt the unpronounceable mark as only proper visual moniker for The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, but the symbol was born in 1982, on the album cover for 1999.

There, in a collage that scintillated with the Love Symbol’s formative phases, Minnesota’s Purple Yoda imaged a manifesto against social prototypes.

Deep within a starry, violaceous space, the words Prince and 1999 dominate the album cover’s vast expanse. Presumably it was Prince himself who drew its letters and numbers, along with other non-representational shapes, symbols, and scenes.

In doing so, the Purple One reflected on his previous body of work to propel rebellion across light-years.

In the same P where a mane suggests Prince’s masculinity, the Love Symbol began its genesis, making its first appearance with its first configuration. The widely used emblems for peace (☮), femininity (♀) and masculinity (♂) emanate separately from a sun. After traveling through the letters spelling Prince, the three icons return as one, O (+>, following the phallic 1 at the bottom of the 9, as if the product of ejaculation.

The melding of the three convolutes gender by implying that multiple can exist in one entity—simultaneously and without much turbulence.

In that way, the Love Symbol cruise-controls on sexual ambiguity. 1999’s cover shares paradigm-altering eccentricities with artists from a former time and space.

Domestic violence (closely related to domestic abuse, spousal abuse, battering, family violence and intimate partner violence) is a pattern of behavior which involves violence or other abuse by one person against another in a domestic context, such as in marriage or cohabitation. Intimate partner violence is domestic violence against a spouse or other intimate partner.

Domestic violence can take place in heterosexual or same-sex relationships. Domestic violence can take a number of forms including physical, emotional, verbal, economic and sexual abuse, which can range from subtle, coercive forms to marital rape and to violent physical abuse that results in disfigurement or death. Globally, a wife or female partner is more commonly the victim of domestic violence, though the victim can also be the male partner, or both partners may engage in abusive or violent behavior, or the victim may act in self-defense or retaliation.

Domestic violence often occurs because the perpetrator believes that abuse is justified and acceptable, and may produce inter-generational cycles of abuse that condone violence. Awareness, perception, definition and documentation of domestic violence differs widely from country to country. There may be a cycle of abuse during which tensions rise and an act of violence is committed, followed by a period of reconciliation and calm.

Victims of domestic violence may be trapped in domestic violent situations through isolation, power and control, insufficient financial resources, fear, shame or to protect children. As a result of abuse, victims may experience physical disabilities, chronic health problems, mental illness, limited finances, and poor ability to create healthy relationships. Victims may experience post-traumatic stress disorder. Children who live in a household with violence may continue the legacy of abuse when they reach adulthood. Domestic violence often happens in the context of forced and child marriage.

Alcohol consumption and mental illness can be co-morbid with abuse, and present additional challenges in eliminating domestic violence. Management of domestic violence may take place through medical services, law enforcement, counseling, and other forms of prevention and intervention.
