SAYING GOODBYE IS NEVER EASY
I vividly remember that night in Chicago when this young family walked unto the stage, into a huge crowd of people mesmerized by the fact that Barack Obama had been elected President of the United States.
I remember Michelle’s black and red dress.
I remember the two young girls walking along, hand in hand, with their parents.
What could they have been thinking?
Today is, technically, their last day in the White House.
I’m sure that by now they have already packed and moved along.
It wasn’t a perfect presidency.
Many goals were accomplished, many weren’t.
The fact remains that advancement in many causes was achieved.
I say goodbye, from the heart, to this family who offered their unqualified, sincere service to this country.
Fare thee well, Obamas!
In my heart forever!
