Daddy Yankee needs no intro in the world of reggaeton.

Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez (born February 3, 1977), known by his stage name Daddy Yankee, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, rapper, actor, and record producer. Ayala was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and was raised in the neighborhood of Villa Kennedy Housing Projects.

Daddy Yankee is the artist who coined the word Reggaeton in 1994 to describe the new music genre that was emerging from Puerto Rico.

Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee performed “Made for Now,” their new collaboration, for the very first time on television Friday night (Aug. 18). The pair took their own advice and moved their bodies with the upbeat song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Never in a million years could we have dreamed up a collab between Janet Jackson and Daddy Yankee, but alas, it’s 2018 and anything is possible in a post-Despacito universe. After they were spotted filming the video last month in New York, the reggaeton icon and pop titan have finally unleashed “Made for Now,” which finds the pair floating through the streets of Brooklyn with a troupe of international dancers from Ghana, Nigeria, Grenada, and Trinidad.

As we previously reported, the production of “Made for Now” harnesses Afrobeats’ global pop explosion, and dancers are dressed in bold, colorful prints. The Big Boss hops in towards the end of the track to drop off some posi vibes and underscore the song’s message of celebrating the present moment.

Jackson and Yankee worked on the music video with famed director Dave Meyers, who has collaborated with Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, Kendrick Lamar, and more. The two legends are set to perform the new song together on The Tonight Show on Friday.

At 10:30am this morning, Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda released a salsa remix of “Almost Like Praying,” his single benefiting the Hispanic Federation’s “Unidos” Disaster Relief Fund for hurricane recovery and rebuilding initiatives in Puerto Rico. Spanish Broadcasting System teamed up with Miranda for a world-premiere radio launch of the remix in New York (Mega 97.9FM), Miami (El Nuevo Zol 106.7FM), and Puerto Rico (Estereotempo 96.5FM).

Miranda himself introduced the single, followed by an interview live from the SBS studios in New York City.

“The benefit single ‘Almost Like Praying’ has had tremendous success with audiences worldwide,” said Miranda. “As we now continue to help establish long-term self-sustainable initiatives to rebuild Puerto Rico, we are thrilled to bring this new version to Salsa-music fans. Although it has been over four months since Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, the island still needs much help to get its most basic infrastructure up and running – including electricity, roads and bridges, healthcare and other vital programs.”

The original “Almost Like Praying” was released for download and streaming on October 6, 2017, and within its first week, hit No. 1 in digital sales in 17 countries. One hundred percent of the proceeds have gone to the Hispanic Federation’s “Unidos” Disaster Relief Fund, which has sponsored hundreds of initiatives to assist in the relief, recovery, and now rebuilding of Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory since 1898.

In a vlog, which he labelled an understated “coming out video of a sort”, Tsui announced he is in a long-term relationship with fellow YouTuber and musician Casey Breves.

I have been following these two guys on YouTube. Their music has always fascinated me. Plenty of times I have posted a new video by either one of them or the two together.

I was surfing the net on my smartphone and found a video called ‘This Promise‘ which I hadn’t seen.

Much to my surprise it was their wedding ceremony!

Amazing!

So touching and so heartwarming.

Sheeran joined Jimmy Fallon and The Roots on the February 27th’s episode of “The Tonight Show” for a performance of his smash single “Shape of You.”

The band used plastic xylophones, a melodica, ukulele, guiro, kazoo, and tambourine, as well as an apple-shaped shaker and blocks to recreate the radio staple. In addition to providing vocals, Sheeran also got his hand on an instrument of his own: the banana-shaped shaker.
