The Ocean Cleanup develops technologies to extract, prevent, and intercept plastic pollution.
The Ocean Cleanup’s goal is to fuel the world’s fight against oceanic plastic pollution by initiating the largest cleanup in history.
Mankind dumps millions of tons of plastic into our oceans every year.
An ambitious project slated to begin in the next decade will help eliminate existing waste by collecting trash in specific regions of the Pacific — but it’s vital for the rest of us to enact sustainable solutions if we want to avoid creating the same problem all over again.
That said, few of us really understand the situation firsthand.
“It’s quite an abstract thing to talk about. It’s very far away for people,” Boyan Slat, founder of The Ocean Cleanup, told The Huffington Post in an interview in September 2015.
Slat, who’s heading the plan to build a 62-mile, trash-capturing wall in the Pacific, didn’t have his own awakening until he tried to get his diver’s license.

If seeing the waste meant something to him, perhaps it will mean something to you. We’ve collected a few images to put the Pacific’s trash crisis into perspective.

Earlier today, (December 7, 2015), the candidate currently leading in the polls for the Republican presidential nomination called for a “total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” That was, of course, Donald Trump. As Jeffrey Goldberg just tweeted, “Donald Trump is now an actual threat to national security. He’s providing jihadists ammunition for their campaign to demonize the US.”
“IOTD” is image of the day, a concept I came up with. I teach visual meditative therapy – or in easy terms – a mini mental holiday. For some people it is very difficult for them to get their image right. I post an image a day for people to use in their mini mental vacay. Some are serious, some are silly, and some are just beautiful!”

XELLE Premires ‘Red Flag’ Music Video, Takes On Anti-Gay Russia
Pop girl group XELLE, are back with a hot new single, titled “Red Flag,” that shows off their serious side sending a powerful social message against the growing anti-gay sentiment occurring in Russia.
The group’s front-women, JC Cassis and Rony G, wanted to bring visibility to and spark a larger discussion about the rise in anti-gay sentiment in Russia, incorporating actual footage from Russia of LGBT persecution into their music video.
“What’s happening in Russia with the anti-LGBT crackdown is reminiscent of Germany before World War II,” Cassie reportedly stated. “If we don’t stop the hatred now, it will grow, spread and become more severe, leading to violence and death for thousands or even millions of people. We can’t stand by and do nothing. We must raise our voices and let Russia know these laws are unacceptable to the international community.
Ultimately, if we all work together, respect and equality will win.”
XELLE first rose to prominence with their video for “Party Girl,” showcasing an illegal dance party filmed in the middle of the night on a New York City subway in 2011.
The duo said in a statement that they want “Red Flag” to show their serious side and have it be “the theme song for a movement that helps change the world for the better.”
I feel like we are moving back in time
The world seems upside down
We’re crashing to the ground, yeah
Although I know some battles have been won
We’ve got a way to go
Until we win the war
Ain’t gonna stop until I get there
Ain’t gonna rest until I get fair
Ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop
I have a dream, have a dream dream dream
Ain’t gonna rest till I get respect
Can’t let history repeat itself
Ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop
I have a dream, have a dream dream dream
People shutting people out, I see a red flag
People taking people’s rights, I see a red flag
See a red flag, see a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
When they take away your freedom, it’s a red flag
When they take what makes you human, it’s a red flag
It’s a red flag, it’s a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
This is about you
This is about me
This is about us all
Not one community
You’re no authority on what is right or wrong
When you make somebody weaker, it doesn’t make you strong
What if someone tried to take away your rights?
Told you who you can love, who you can marry, how to live your life?
Freedom shouldn’t come with a price-pricetag
Time to raise your voice, raise your head, raise a red flag
Ain’t gonna stop until I get there
Ain’t gonna rest until I get fair
Ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop
No, no, no
Ain’t gonna rest till I get respect
Can’t let history repeat itself
Ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop, ain’t gonna stop
I have a dream
People shutting people out, I see a red flag
People taking people’s rights, I see a red flag
See a red flag, see a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
When they take away your freedom, it’s a red flag
When they take what makes you human, it’s a red flag
It’s a red flag, it’s a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
There’s blood in the streets
And fear in the air
Won’t let ‘em convince us
That we shouldn’t care
‘Cause we know what’s wrong
And we’ll stand together
Let’s make a change that lasts forever
People shutting people out, I see a red flag
People taking people’s rights, I see a red flag
See a red flag, see a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
When they take away your freedom, it’s a red flag
When they take what makes you human, it’s a red flag
It’s a red flag, it’s a red flag, gotta stand up for my brothers and my sisters
