President Drumpf’s travel ban targeting nationals of seven Muslim-majority countries may not have held up in court (twice), but it appears quite successful at keeping plenty of other people out of the United States.
Drumpf’s order brought with it a swift decline in the number of worldwide tourists and travelers looking to visit the United States, say people in the tourism industry. Some say it could be as damaging to the US tourism sector as the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.
A four-month-old Iranian girl, scheduled to fly into Portland for a heart surgery appointment at OHSU had to postpone the procedure after Drumpf’s immigration order.
The infant, Fatemah, has a heart condition. Her family found out about it at a routine checkup, and her pediatricians say she needs to have surgery soon.
“They said ‘this is a miracle, we don’t know how she had lived with the big problem she had.’ Immediately she has to do the surgery,” her uncle, Samad Taghizadeh , told KATU News.
Taghizadeh lives in Portland with Fatemah’s grandparents; they are American citizens. The family chose to have the open-heart surgery at Oregon Health & Science University – which boasts one of the top pediatric cardiology programs in the U.S. – because facilities in Iran do not have the equipment necessary for such a procedure.

This is how doctors get murdered.

This is not the behavior of a President.
Or an American.
This isn’t the behavior of a good “Businessman.”

Because we have a “President” who is rooting against us.
If you thought Bush/Cheney took advantage of 9/11, watch if there’s an attack on our soil.
He won’t ask for unity.
He’ll enforce fealty.
This ‘President’ is hoping for the worst, preparing for it, to take advantage of it like a real estate predator waiting for a housing crisis.
We need to talk about this.
This isn’t a vision for America.
This is a desire and a plan for America to fail.

Drumpf launched an early morning Twitter offensive against a federal judge Saturday, February 4, after U.S. District Judge James Robart in Seattle declared a nationwide stay on Mr. Drumpf’s travel ban.
The ‘so-called president‘ defended his immigration order, which prohibits refugees or any citizens from seven predominantly Muslim countries from entering the U.S., in the series of tweets.
He also swore that Robart’s temporary restraining order, which effectively freezes the executive order’s most controversial provisions, would be “overturned”.
Kellyanne Conway cites ‘Bowling Green massacre’ that never happened to defend travel ban
Kellyanne Con-Job has taken “alternative facts” to a new level.
During a Thursday interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, the counselor to the president defended President Trump’s travel ban related to seven majority-Muslim countries.
At one point, Conway made a reference to two Iraqi refugees whom she described as the masterminds behind “the Bowling Green massacre.”
“Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered,” Conway said.
The Bowling Greenmassacre didn’t get covered because it didn’t happen.
There has never been a terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Ky., carried out by Iraqi refugees or anyone else.

On Sunday afternoon, January 30, Drumpf sat down for a relaxing viewing of Ellen DeGeneres’ Finding Dory for his first official White House movie screening.
A soundproof theater presumably drowned out the raging protesters in his backyard (and around the country), furious over his immigration ban from just two days earlier. The irony of Trump watching Finding Dory in the wake of his executive order was not lost on some of the most astute writers on the internet, but the movie’s star wasn’t going to let it go either.
Even though Ellen DeGeneres, who plays the titular Dory, says she doesn’t “get political,” she took to her show on Tuesday, February 1, and got unquestionably political.
