Billy is an award winning 17 year old Anglo-Brazilian classical/fingerstyle instrumental guitarist, inspired by the likes of Rodrigo y Gabriela, Tommy Emmanuel, Mike Oldfield and Paco De Lucía.

In 2016, he reached the grand final of ‘Guitar Star’ – a guitar based talent show open to all ages and genres for Sky Arts TV, which was broadcast in Europe, Australia and South America.

An experienced live performer, he has graced the main stage of Towersey Festival along with Midge Ure and Billy Bragg and was musical guest of comedian Rory Bremner, performing live on BBC Radio Scotland and at 2 sold out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, where he has regularly performed on the Royal Mile since the age of 9.

His audition for the show, performing a classical arrangement of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was a viral internet sensation, and altogether his videos have been seen by over 60 million people.

The White House has decked its halls for the holidays. And just like last year, its trimmings look more frightening than festive at first glance.

If you were one of many people who thought last year’s White House Christmas display was bizarrely ominous, moody lighting and barren tree skeletons looking like the backdrop of a horror movie – well, then, I can’t wait to hear what you think of the 2018 holiday look.

Melania reportedly spent months working on this year’s decorations, which she unveiled in a series of Monday morning tweets.

Perhaps determined to continue signaling disregard for her critics, Drumpf has repeated the idea of horror-tinged White-House decor in at least one corner of the place, lining an entire hallway with blood-red Christmas trees that immediately reminded gawkers on social media of fun holiday movies.

FINALLY

I went to the movies yesterday and saw this film.

I was an ardent fan of the 1976 version in which Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson played the lead roles.

I wasn’t disappointed with this current version.

Both Bradley and Lady Gaga performed impeccably. 

Fully recommend it!

This song is simply incredible. The story around it is worth watching the film.

“Fields of Gold” is a song written and recorded by Sting.

It first appeared on his 1993 album Ten Summoner’s Tales. The song was released as a single but only made it to number 16 on the UK Singles Chart and to number 23 in the United States Billboard Hot 100.

However, it became one of Sting’s most famous songs, with many renowned artists covering the song.

In Lyrics By Sting, the singer described the view from his 16th-century Wiltshire manor house:

“In England, our house is surrounded by barley fields, and in the summer it’s fascinating to watch the wind moving over the shimmering surface, like waves on an ocean of gold.

For the Oct. 15, 2018, TIME cover on the impact of Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony and the significance of her voice, we used Ford’s words to create her portrait.

As Haley Sweetland Edwards writes in the accompanying story, “the moment Dr. Christine Blasey Ford walked into the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, raised her right hand and swore to tell the truth, it was clear to millions of Americans that something momentous was about to unfold.”

Using words and phrases from Ford’s testimony, San Francisco-based artist John Mavroudis recreated her likeness by drawing each letter by hand.

“This particular process is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together, but with an infinite number of possibilities,” says Mavroudis.

“I started with an image of Ford and then drew the words in where they might be appropriate.”

“The memory quotes would be attached to her forehead area, and the quotes about wanting to help I placed on her hand. The hand could be seen as welcoming, but also deflecting,” Mavroudis said.

“It’s a fascinating process to watch the face take shape, while hoping that you’ve captured the essence.”

Words from a dear friend in Puerto Rico who lived through Hurricane María and its aftermath

Speechless, angry, hurt, dazed, depressed, outraged.

To say that the federal government’s intervention during Hurricane María was a success is to insult all of those who suffered thru months of darkness, lack of basic necessities, homelessness and loss of loved ones.
More than half of FEMA officials were not certified, which means many of those who applied for help were denied due to a lack of knowledge on their part.

Containers which sat at port, waiting for inspection, as if there was the most remote possibility of guns or explosives in them. A lack of a coordinated plan to distribute essentials. Not one temporary bridge put up by National Guard or Reserve members, (who do this on regular basis in other countries during their summer trainings) in areas where entire communities or towns were completely cut off from help and supplies.

Among other situations.

To use the Island as an example of a successful mission of rescue is an insult to it’s citizens (note I don’t even bother mentioning U. S. Citizens), to those who graciously and generously helped with donations and still are on the Island, rebuilding homes for the less fortunate. To still see so many blue tarps as roofs is depressing, knowing most are senior citizens who can barely get by and pay for food and meds, much less repair with the ridiculously jacked up prices of building materials.
A horrible thought of what may happen in the Carolinas, Virginia and it’s residents.

My fervent prayers for your safety and that you find comfort after the storm.

Drumpf’s Campaign Is Asking Supporters to Vote on a Space Force Logo

Hours after Vice President Mike Pence outlined the Administration plans to create the Space Force – a proposed sixth military branch focused on space security – the Drumpf campaign sent out a mass email asking supporters to vote for a logo for the Space Force.

“Drumpf wants a SPACE FORCE  – a ground breaking endeavor for the future of America and the final frontier,” the email, signed by Drumpf’s 2020 campaign manager Brad Parscale, said. “As a way to celebrate Drumpf’s huge announcement, our campaign will be selling a new line of gear. But first we have to make a final decision on the design we will use to commemorate Drumpf’s new Space Force- and he wants YOU to have a say”.

The Space Force would be the first new military branch since the Air Force was created in 1947 and would be meant to be equal to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard.

Vice President Pence said the Space Force would take over already existing space operations and transferring employees. Vice President Pence said the Administration would want the branch up and running by 2020.

But, it faces one big obstacle – the Space Force would need approval from Congress before it could become a new military branch.
