Glennis Grace (born as Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta, 19 June 1978, Amsterdam) is a singer from the Netherlands who in 2005 won the national selection in the Netherlands for the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 for the nation. Grace’s song was the ballad “My Impossible Dream“, but she did not advance to the final.

She was discovered after she won a Dutch TV talent show where she performed Whitney Houston’s “One Moment in Time”. In April 2011 she reached the top of the Dutch singles chart with a rendition of “Afscheid”, a 1998 hit of the band Volumia!. She appeared on the 13th season of America’s Got Talent in 2018.

Her first performance on America’s Got Talent was a cover from Whitney Houston’s “Run To You”.

Earlier in the AGT season, the glamorous singer performed “Run to You” by Whitney Houston for her audition, then followed up with “Nothing Compares 2 U“.

Grace showed her earlier performances were no flukes when she nailed the inspiration song with a touch of soul and some crowd-pleasing power-notes.

“Pride of Asia” David foster to Charice’s Performance on Asia’s Got Talent

Last night I ended the day by posting about Charice Pempengco.

At the time, she sang her heart out to her mother, singing an incredible duet with Celine Dion …

“Because You Loved Me”.

Some things have changed since that day in 2012.

What hasn’t changed is her amazing talent.

Today, National Coming Out Day, I share with you another showcasing of this amazing woman and her talent.

After three long years, The “Pride of Asia“, Charice Pempengco and the Grammy award-winning composer, David Foster finally reunited on stage for the grand finals of Asia’s Got Talent on Thursday night.

Moments before Charice showed up on stage, she was first introduced as the ‘Pride of Asia’ and they also showed the highlights of her career under David Foster’s mentorship.

Wearing a presentable suit together with her short hair was the opposite of how she looked like years ago when she performed with David Foster. But as everyone expected, only her physical appearance changed, because she still sings with her heart. She proudly presented herself as a lesbian to everyone present at the Marina Bay Sands.

Charice Pempengco and David Foster performed one of the hit songs of Sam Smith entitled “Lay Me Down”.

Charice had her big break when David Foster discovered her as she sings Whitney Houston and Celine Dion‘s songs, and with the help of Oprah Winfrey, Charice reached the success!

“She has always had a place in my heart; she will always have a place in my heart.” David Foster said shortly before their performance on Asia’s Got Talent started.

What a wonderful way to wake up on a lazy Saturday morning? 

Sometimes social media spreads good things. 

“I Will Always Love You” is a song by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. The country track was released on June 6, 1974 as the second single from Parton’s thirteenth solo studio album, Jolene (1974). The singer wrote the song, which was recorded on June 13, 1973, for her one-time partner and mentor Porter Wagoner, from whom she was professionally splitting at the time.

“I Will Always Love You” received positive comments from critics and attained commercial success, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart two times. With the accomplishment, Parton became the first artist ever to earn a number one record twice with the same song as a singer, and three times as a writer. “I Will Always Love You” is the second song ever to reach the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 in separate chart runs. Parton also sang the song in the film The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

Whitney Houston recorded a version of the song for the 1992 film The Bodyguard. It has since become one of the best selling singles of all time.

Michael Jackson Wanted To Collaborate With Lady Gaga

It could have been one of the most bizarre musical hookups in pop history. According to a new interview with Michael Jackson’s choreographer, Travis Payne, the late King of Pop was a big fan of Lady Gaga and had tried to set up a meeting to discuss a possible joint project.

The revelation comes from a video posted on December 30 on YouTube by Amsterdam-based producer/actor Raffles van Exel, who asks Payne which artists MJ was interested in collaborating with before his death last June.

“I gave him a short wish list of possible collaborators and he was like, ‘Sure, they can all come, as long as their schedules permit and it’s not too much of a problem for them,’ ” Payne said of Jackson’s humble response to a suggestion that he reach out to other artists to work with him on his This Is It series of shows in London. “Of course, I suggested Janet, of course Whitney Houston, Diana Ross and Mariah Carey we talked about. We talked about Missy Elliott. We talked about Usher, of course. We talked about Justin Timberlake, Celine Dion, Sting, Seal, Bono, Tina Turner. We talked about all these people that I thought were cool but that he liked.”

Then, Payne said he asked Jackson if there was anyone else he wanted to reach out to. “He goes, ‘Lady Gaga.’ I go, ‘Really?’ He goes, ‘Yeah.’ He’s the one who really got me to get into her. He literally told me, ‘You gotta get into her. She’s good.’ So, I started listening to her music more and going on YouTube and looking at her performances, and I was like, ‘He’s right.’ ”

Payne did not specify in the video when these conversations took place. He said that last November, he got a call from Lady Gaga and told her the story about the conversation with Jackson. “She got moved by it,” he recalled. A spokesperson for Gaga could not be reached for comment about Payne’s claims.
