Hurricane Matthew is set to deliver a devastating blow to eastern Florida starting Thursday night,October 6, will hammer areas farther north up the coast in Georgia and the Carolinas Friday into the weekend.
An important point to make is that landfall does NOT need to take place for the worst impacts to come ashore. The strongest winds and most drilling surge will come to the coast in the eyewall, which surrounds the eye.
Landfall occurs when the calmest portion of the eye, or the center, comes ashore. Hurricane conditions will come ashore even if the center stays 20 to 30 miles offshore.
FACTORS
Timing For Matthew
Life-Threatening Storm Surge, Battering Waves, Major Beach Erosion
Damaging Hurricane-Force Winds Likely
Rainfall Flooding, Tornadoes
Matthew’s to Eventually Make a Loop Off the Southeast Coast?

We Are All Connected
I don’t know you, you don’t know me
We don’t know each other
Yet we do, somehow,
Some way, We are all connected.
We are connected to this life by many threads
Which we only notice when they are broken
Whether family, friends, work or welfare, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in time.
You are connected to me by small pleasures
Which we only notice when we stop giving
Whether interest, intent, wish or wisdom, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in space.
We are connected to each other for ever now
Which we only notice when we are apart again
Whether travel, trust, freedom or failure, all
Pull us apart in different dimensions in love.
Joe was born in Malden, Massachusets on September 14, 1987 to Rose Hornedo and Bennie Catino. In 1992, Rose moved to Brockton with Joseph and his younger sister Gina Catino, where Joe spent his childhood and young adulthood.
He made life-long friends and loving memories with his family throughout the years.
The family moved to Florida in 2005, where Joe truly began to find himself.
He had developed a great passion for Japan, especially anime.
He found many kindred spirits in Florida. He loved conventions, COS play .. with devotion to One Piece, The Straw Hat Crew.
He found a soul-mate in Monkey D. Luffy.
Joe had aspirations to become a writer.
He wrote several fictional short stories and also poetry.
Joseph was an exceptionally unique soul. He believed in the good of people overall regardless if they fall at times. He loved unconditionally. He was a beautiful combination of childlike impishness and the wisest of old souls. Joe left a lasting impression in all those who met him.
He will be truly missed!
Joseph is survived by mother: Rose Hornedo, his sister: Gina Catino, his brother-in-law: Joshua Diaz, his niece: Leilani Jolie Diaz, his nephew: Liam Joseph Diaz, his mother’s partner: Lydia Medina, his boyfriend: Kawon Davis, the Catino family, the Hornedo family and countless extended family and friends.
~~MESSAGES FOR JOSEPH CATINO~~
A beautiful spirit made the transition early morning, February 27, 2014, as a soft rain fell ever Orlando. Joe Catino, son of my friend Rose, both of them two of the sweetest, strongest and brightest souls I know, brother to Gina, beloved uncle to Leilani and to the little nephew who will never see him on this side of the Veil, but will hear earfuls of Uncle Jojo stories as he grows up, and beloved of Kawon, another beautiful and pure soul, lost his brief but ferocious battle with cancer early today. To his very last conscious moment, he kept his sense of humor and playfulness, and reflected back on those around him the deep love that surrounded him.
Go in Beauty, Joe, just as you walked in it throughout your life.

A young warrior faced a battle bigger than life itself. He used all the “weapons” he had at hand. All possibilities were considered, all opportunities explored, all avenues where taken. In the end the battle was bigger than his heart.
Joe’s earthly form is no longer with us. However, his heart, his memory, his spirit will always be imprinted on the hearts and minds of those that he “touched” …. knowingly and unknowingly.
His light isn’t extinguished. He will be forever within reach.
Heaven has a new angel … .and his name is Joseph Anthony Catino …
Forever Joe!!!
