Shooting Survivors Write and Perform Song
Survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High school shooting perform “Shine,” a song the school’s drama club wrote in the wake of the shooting.

The more I find out about these kids, the more impressed I am.

Multiply that by such a number and imagine how many amazing kids are out there in harm’s way.

Never thought of it this way.

The adults have dropped the ball.

It will be up to their generation to get this done correctly.

My support is with them all the way!

Stoneman Douglas Drama Club performs “Shine” – a song they wrote this week
Tonight’s town hall closed with a moving performance by Stoneman Douglas High School’s Drama Club.

During the performance, the students urged the crowd to reach out to Congress. “Be the voice for those who don’t have one,” a student performer said.

They performed “Shine,” a song they wrote this week to honor their friends following the shooting.

Democratic mega-donor and billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer is spending what an aide says is “well over $10 million” on a national TV ad campaign calling for President Drumpf’s impeachment.
The campaign is a bid by Steyer – who has not ruled out a run for office himself – to “demand that elected officials take a stand” on an issue Democratic leaders have so far largely avoided.

Steyer, a staunch environmentalist and Drumpf critic, launched a $10 million national campaign ad calling for the president’s impeachment last week.

The one-minute ad calls Trump “mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons.” It accuses the president of obstructing justice in his firing of former FBI Director James Comey, violating the Constitution, taking money from foreign governments and threatening to shut down press organizations.

“Like you, I’m a citizen who knows it’s up to us to do something,” Steyer said in the ad, sending viewers to the website NeedToImpeach.com.

An aide to Steyer told Forbes that the television ad buy would be accompanied by a multi-million dollar digital advertising campaign.

“A Republican Congress once impeached a president for far less. And today, people in Congress and his own administration know that this President is a clear and present danger who is mentally unstable and armed with nuclear weapons,” Steyer says in the ad, which largely features him speaking directly to the camera.

“He has threatened to reduce aid for millions of American citizens in Puerto Rico who are struggling to survive without drinkable water or electricity – a move that would be a total dereliction of his duty.

And every day, Americans are left bracing for a Twitter screed that could set off a nuclear war. These actions represent systemic attacks on our nation’s future,”

Steyer writes.

Scheduling conflict has led Drumpf to balk at throwing the Opening Day first pitch for the Washington Nationals, the White House said Tuesday

The Nationals also informed reporters at the team’s pre-Opening Day media event that Drumpf would not participate in the longtime presidential tradition.
The Nationals open at home this year, with their first game taking place against the Miami Marlins at 1 p.m. ET on Monday, April 3.

The tradition of a president throwing out the first pitch dates back to 1910, when then-President William Howard Taft hurled one for the Washington Senators’ opener.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. I currently live in Florida - since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I also worked for the government of Puerto Rico from 1979 through 1985 .... for a total of almost 40 years as a physician. I want to offer any knowledge that I have to anyone "out there" who is interested. My views are liberal in almost every sense. My knowledge is "eclectic" - a bit of everything. Music and reading are my passion. Blogging has also become a very interesting endeavor. Metaphysical topics attract me. I'm interested in news - reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected. My intention is to bring this knowledge to an understandable level and to help anyone in need. I'm open to questions and will answer them to the best of my ability.
