It was another one of those weekend nights when you want to “squeeze” all the joy of living from life … no matter what your chronological age is.

We started early, at another gathering but knew that we would end at “Castle Knights“, our favorite watering hole and meeting place for our kind of people.

Castle Knights is a local pub that has been established for many, many years. It’s a landmark, an institution with lots of history behind it. Many events have taken place there all with the intent of keeping the community alive, united and focused on one goal … quality entertainment, good music, food, beer, wine and “special” shots!!

This is how we roll!! This is how we party!!

Awesome lighting system, warm and cozy atmosphere. However, the place is really made by the quality people that arrive as patrons.

The music is excellent …. the DJ that we have now is out of this world!!

Her name is L.D.N. DJ Sox …. she original from Great Britain … but she surely can spin a “mean” Latin mix for the Latin Night patrons to enjoy and dance the night away.

We want to keep her. She’s knows her stuff, she’s very sweet and lovable, she teaches and leads us in group dances, coming down to the floor from her “Mount Olympus” and mingle with the common folk.

She plays all kinds of music … surprising for such a “youngun” ….. She also plays hip-hop, oldies, 60s, 70s, 80s, disco music. Just ask and she will play it for you … with a huge smile in her face!!!

Castle Knights is an Orlando bar that has previously operated primarily as a lesbian-focused establishment is returning, this time as an “everybody bar.”

Nadia Lazzano, Jackie Gilmore and Kathleen Bones have teamed up to create Castle Knights, a medieval-themed bar located on Edgewater drive in the space previously occupied by Faces, R-Bar and Reckos. Castle Knights opened Nov. 9, 2012.

“Apparently a club just a lesbian bar didn’t work and so we figured we’ll give it a shot as an everybody bar,” Lazzano said. “We lesbians don’t really support each other, unfortunately, and I think that’s one of the reasons it hasn’t worked.”

She had said they were excited about their new venture because they’ll “get to meet new people and entertain people.”

The bar will be open each week Thursday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The club’s license covers beer and wine only. It was unclear whether the bar would eventually incorporate a liquor license.

Lazzano said there’s was quite a bit of work to do before she and the other owners open their doors, including renovations, fixing up the DJ booth and “a lot of cleaning because it was closed for a few months and there are a lot of cobwebs.”
