Listen to the Pentatonix Cover of Dear Evan Hansen‘s ’Waving Through a Window’

The breakout tune from the Tony-winning musical got a revamp – and a new music video – by the a cappella group.

 

The multi-platinum a cappella group Pentatonix released a music video for the Dear Evan Hansen tune “Waving Through a Window.” Check it out above.

This isn’t Pentatonix’s first foray into the world of Broadway.

The quintet performed at Wicked‘s 15th anniversary special on NBC, and can be heard on the concept album for the musical Finding Neverland. Last year, the group’s Kirstin Maldonado made her Broadway debut, appearing alongside Scissor Sister’s Jake Shears in Kinky Boots.

The song has become a favorite of artists to perform since Dear Evan Hansen‘s debut. Katy Perry, Rachel Tucker, and countless fans have all offered their versions of the breakout hit.

The Tony-winning Dear Evan Hansen continues its run at Broadway’s Music Box Theatre, across the country in a national tour, and in Toronto, with a West End bow on the way.

Dear Evan Hansen is a stage musical with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, and book by Steven Levenson.

The musical opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre in December 2016, after its world premiere at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., in July 2015 and an Off-Broadway production at Second Stage Theatre from March to May 2016.

At the 71st Tony Awards, it was nominated for nine awards, winning six, including Best Musical, Best Score, Best Actor in a Musical for Ben Platt, and Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Rachel Bay Jones.
