TGIF: No Truth!

A perfect statement to end the week … Why? Because truly there is no ‘truth’ anymore … we don’t believe elected officials, trusted institutions, established policies … it seems to me this is a worldwide reality! đŸ˜Ș
This helps me understand so much of the current reality I perceive!

A few days ago I was at a conference in Montreal, and a Canadian gentleman, trying to grasp what’s happening to America, asked me a simple question: “What do you fear most these days?”

I paused for a second, like a spectator waiting to see what would come out of my own mouth. Two things came out: “I fear we’re seeing the end of ‘truth’ — that we simply can’t agree any more on basic facts. And I fear that we’re becoming Sunnis and Shiites
but the sectarianism that has destroyed nation-states in the Middle East is now infecting us.”


So when I got home, I called my teacher and friend Dov Seidman
and asked him what he thought was happening to us.

I'm originally from Puerto Rico. I was born in Santurce and raised in Rio Piedras. Have lived in Florida since 1999. I have a doctorate degree in Medicine; completed in 1976. My Internal Medicine specialty was completed in 1979. Worked for Puerto Rico's health system until 1985. At this time, I'm happily retired after working for the federal government for almost 28yrs. I'm interested in news reporting human issues like injustice, discrimination and abuse - the "wrongly" affected.
