As the Republican war on women rages on in the form of attacking Planned Parenthood, women have a powerful ally standing by them and his name is Mark Zuckerberg.

Ever since a right-wing group released deceptively edited videos claiming that Planned Parenthood is selling fetal tissue, conservatives have thrown a giant hissy fit. Republicans in Congress are even considering shutting down the government if Democrats and President Obama refuse to acquiesce to their demand to defund Planned Parenthood.

But while Republicans attack Planned Parenthood, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is standing by women.

Not too long ago, anti-choice website LifeNews had a conniption after discovering that Zuckerberg and his wife have donated nearly a billion dollars to an organization with strong ties to one of the largest providers of women’s health services in the United States.

HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” is back for it’s 13th season just in time to deliver the comedic takedown of this week’s first Republican primary debate that we’ve all been missing since Jon Stewart’s final sign-off and Maher did not hold back, blasting centerstage ham Donald Trump as a “nasty, boorish, sexist, ignorant, smug.”

On last night’s episode, Maher thanked Jesus for timing his shows return with the Fox News Republican primary debate which he described as “a Comedy Central Roast of the U.S. Constitution.”

There is a very sad tape of Don Pedro Albizu Campos. It was recorded in 1953, while he was imprisoned in La Princesa.  

Don Pedro discusses what is being done to him…the radiation torture in his cell. 

Some people found it hard to believe.  

Others ridiculed him, and called him “The King of the Towels,” because he tried to protect himself from the radiation by wrapping his head and body in cold wet towels. 

The saddest thing is the sound of his voice. Don Pedro is so tired, he is suffering so much, but he carries on. He does not give up.

INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY

Caturday, August 8, is a Feline celebration or #InternationalCatDay according to the Social Media, started by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002. Well, furry meow paw totally deserve that!

International Cat Day is a full 24 hours of recognition and veneration of one of humanity’s oldest and most beloved pets. The festivities were put together for the first time in 2002 by IFAW, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, among other animal rights groups, to celebrate the most popular pet on the planet.

An estimated 500 million cats are thought to be frolicking in neighbors’ gardens across the world, which means that most every extended family is bound to have an aunt with more kittens than former husbands, whatever the country or climate. And that’s great, because owning a cat has been shown to improve mental health and to relieve stress, anxiety and depression.

So when it’s raining cats and dogs outside and you don’t have someone to cuddle with, any black, ginger, Persian, Siamese, Burmese, Bengal, Shorthair, Munchkin, Balinese, RagaMuffin or any old stray cat will do the trick.

So roll out the red carpet and the catnip for your furry feline friend, because International Cat Day is that one day a year when black cats bring good luck and cat eye sunglasses match your entire wardrobe.

I would like to introduce my black cat to you. I have already posted about her. Here she is again, in case you missed it.

The reason I’m posting about her today is because I’m including a video that a friend posted on my Facebook timeline and she mentioned that it was just like “Double Trouble” (aka “Kitty”).

Thank you Melanie … for this “pearl” of a video!

I found Kitty on the doorstep of a friend. She was friendly and cuddly from the start. That night, I left her behind but couldn’t get her out of my find. The following day. I went for her hoping that she still be there … and she was. She came home with me.

I would say she’s only about 6-8 months old.

Am I happy with this decision? Yes, but she’s quite the handful.
