LOVE IS LOVE
Of course, you know that I’m partial to this ad.
As I’m researching to write about it, I’ve seen that it’s already raising issues and some are claiming for boycotts.
Others have shown their support for the ad on social media.
A new, gay-friendly McDonald’s McCafé ad in Taiwan has predictably stirred up opposition from local religious groups, who are demanding a boycott.
Why does this have to be the case?
Let people be who they are, let people love who they love, let people sleep who they want to sleep with.
There’s no reason for judgement.
It only shows the pettiness they possess and the small brain they have.

LGBT-Friendly McDonald’s Ad
In the 90-second McCafé commercial, the subject’s father apparently rejects his son’s homosexual revelation, pounding a fist on the table and quickly exiting the scene, leaving the boy alone and downtrodden.
On the table there is a cup of coffee on which the son has scribbled “I like boys,” as translated by the China news site Shanghaiist.
Eventually, the father returns with a cup of coffee of his own. He then takes the boy’s cup in his hands and jots a few more characters on the exterior, changing the written statement to say,
“I accept that you like boys.”
Cue schmaltzy violin and piano tunes.

(Because until Denny’s expands to Taiwan, McCafé has to be the place where people have difficult talks.)
