Carrie Fisher had had enough of the debate over General Leia’s physical appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Carrie Fisher Fires Back at ‘Star Wars’ Age-Shamers
‘My Body Hasn’t Aged as Well as I Have’
The 59-year-old (at the time) actress’ looks have been the topic of much scrutiny in the wake of the latest installment in the legendary space saga, because the world is an ugly place and most Internet trolls would rather harass her for getting older than question why Harrison Ford continues to wear a single stud earring well into his seventies.
“My BODY hasn’t aged as well as I have,” Fisher added in her tweet. “Blow us.”
Carrie died in December after suffering a heart attack
DeGeneres, who had known Fisher for years and had frequently hosted her on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, remembered her late friend through clips of Fisher’s past appearances on the show.
“Before I go, I want to say something about my friend, Carrie Fisher,”
DeGeneres said toward the end of the show.
“I knew her for a long time. She’s been on the show many times, and the last time was just a month ago. And I loved when she was here. She made me laugh so hard. She was smart, she was funny, she was hilariously honest about herself and the world around her.”
DeGeneres then showed clips of Fisher joking on the show about her life, career and relationship with her mother, Debbie Reynolds, who died the day after Fisher.
May the Force be with Carrie Fisher and may her rebellious spirit live forever
As a direct reaction to the formation of the Galactic Empire, the Alliance insurgency conducted covert operations on Imperial garrison-worlds and guerrilla warfare against the Imperial Fleet throughout the Star Wars galaxy.
Their goal was to restore the democratic ideals of the Old Republic.
Touching and rare video of Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds singing together has resurfaced online
Tragically, both Carrie and Debbie passed away this week, with the Star Wars actress dying aged 60 following a heart attack on Tuesday, December 26, and her mother Debbie, 84, dying on Wednesday, December 28, after suffering a stroke.
Now, in what is thought to be one of the only videos of the pair singing together in public, a video of them performing a duet on The Oprah WinfreyShow following a joint interview in 2011 has emerged.
The recording sees the mother and daughter duo singing a medley of Al Jolson’s You Made Me Love You and Barbra Streisand’s Happy Days Are Here Again.
The bond between them is evident as they sing, making it a pretty special performance.
Debbie Reynolds – who rose to stardom in “Singin’ in the Rain” and quickly became a staple among Hollywood royalty – died Wednesday, December 28, as a result of a stroke, just one day after her daughter Carrie Fisher passed away, according to her son Todd.
