I’ve heard this song and I like it .

A dear friend asked me if I’d seen the video (I hadn’t) and mentioned that there was a deeper, hidden meaning to the song.

“Chained to the Rhythm” Meaning
“Chained to the Rhythm” by Katy Perry is about people who live live far away from difficulty or unhappiness and who aren’t willing to come down out of these “bubble[s]” to see real problems that need to be solved in the world. She doesn’t specify the kind of problems and leaves it to her audience to apply her song to situations on their own though there does seem to be a pretty substantial political charge to this song.

 “Chained to the Rhythm” is obviously intended to be a club hit, which brings us to a dilemma: do we dance and ignore the message, or do we stop and try to change the world? Perry obviously wants us to wake up (and possibly stop listening to her song), which makes “Chained to the Rhythm” deeper than your average pop song and also heavily ironic.

Of course, all of this has a vague but unmistakable political tint to it.

Katy Perry was no fan of Donald Trump for United States president. In fact, she was outspokenly in favor of Hillary Clinton, so it makes sense that a song calling out people for not standing up and calling out those in power for being in the wrong could be about Donald Trump’s administration. In any case, “Chained to the Rhythm” is an interesting song with a deep meaning. Let me know what you think in the comments, and let’s continue the conversation!

Simon Cowell gives opera singer Daniel Emmet an impossible challenge on ‘America’s Got Talent’

Classical crossover singer Daniel Emmet thought that he was sure to sail through his audition for “America’s Got Talent.”

But as we saw on the June 19 episode of “AGT,” head judge Simon Cowell had something else in mind for this 25-year-old singer, who intended to perform an original song that was a mashup of opera and pop. He had barely begun this tune, which came across as bland and boring, when judge Simon Cowell cut him off and requested that he sing a different song.

When Emmet admitted he had not come prepared with an alternate, Cowell seemed crossed. He dispatched him from the stage and gave him just one hour to learn another song, the Il Divo hit “Passera.”

The visibly nervous neophyte returned in the appointed 60 minutes and proceeded to wow the audience, the panel and even himself with his rendition of this Italian aria.

Amanda Mena, a 15-year-old who had been bullied at school for not knowing English as a child, soared on Tuesday night’s, June 19, “America’s Got Talent.”

Mena belted a version of Aretha Franklin’s classic “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” that brought the house down and left the celebrity judges searching for words.

“My gosh, where do I start? That was just incredible,” said judge Mel B. “I got goose pimples all over. I love you, I love your voice, and this is what I’m going to say to all those bullies.”

Mel B then pressed the show’s Golden Buzzer, sending Mena directly on to the show’s live rounds.

“Do you know what you have, Amanda?” asked judge Simon Cowell.

“You have genuinely natural soul. You really, really do. I mean, that’s not an easy song to sing. This is an audition we’re going to remember for a long time, Amanda.”

TWO YEARS AGO TODAY

Tragedy struck in the early hours of the night

It was a night of fun and celebration at a Latin even at Pulse, a local LGBTQ night club in Orlando.

Most victims were Latino and Hispanic.

It was Pulse’s Latin Night. 

It was a horrible situation.

It was a huge hit for the Latino and Hispanic communities.

It was reported that 90% of the victims were Latino/Hispanic with 23 of the victims from Puerto Rico.

We’re excited to share our new Song Around The World with you featuring musicians from the island of Jamaica to the islands of Hawaii and beyond.

The original idea for this Bob Marley Song Around The World was born back in 2013 when the PFC crew first visited the Congo.

Mark asked himself,

“How can we live in a world that allows people to live like this, with virtually no food, no money, and no hope?” The lyric, “Things are not the way they used to be … one and all got to face reality” came to mind as he looked out into the river of garbage running through the city.

“Natural Mystic always felt so deep in its groove and lyrics and it seemed as important and urgent as what I was seeing all around me,” says Mark.

 We need to rise up and make the planet a better place right now for ourselves, our children, and all living things. “Just a Little Bit” written and performed by Paula Fuga was added as a medley to “Natural Mystic” to take the music from minor key to the major key – from the darkness to the light.

The Earth Anthem penned by poet-diplomat Abhay K was translated into Portuguese and launched in Brasilia to commemorate World Environment Day.

Abhay had written the anthem in 2008, inspired by the Upanishads and the image of the Earth taken by the Apollo 17 crew. He penned it in Russia’s St Petersburg and so far it has been translated into 30 languages.

According to IANS, he said,

“Whichever country we come from, we all have our planet in common. A tribute to her in the form of an anthem, therefore, should be able to find favour with people from all countries. Such an anthem will not only connect all of us across the world through a common musical thread but will also inspire the next generation to put the planet before themselves.”

For his Earth Anthem, he was termed ‘inspiring’ by UNESCO, Habitat for Humanity, and many others. He has plans of continuing the the Earth Anthem project by collaborating with the world’s leading musicians and singers to create consecutive editions.

I’m addicted to The Voice.

I’ve been watching for many seasons.

As I traversed through the net today, I found this video.

It blissfully hit the strings of my heart.

PRECIOSA is an iconic Puerto Rican song. 

Johnny Bliss performed this song masterfully.

We don’t know who he picks as his coach.

I sure hope it’s Alicia Keys. 

I know who I will be rooting for during this season if Johnny makes it through the end.

On Facebook, Johnny Bliss describes himself as “an up and coming salsa/rock/pop and R&B artist.”

Born and raised in New York City, he said his influences include Bruno Mars and Marc Anthony.

He’s been through this type of competition before. In 2016, he participated in the Univision singing show “Va Por Tí.” You can watch his performances on his YouTube channel.

Most of his YouTube videos feature Johnny singing in Spanish, but he does include an English cover of Rihanna’s “Take a Bow.”

He also performs as a comedian and motivational speaker, according to his Facebook page.
